170 megabits per second

I can download quality music faster than i can listen to it, and my cable modem is a measley 3 megabits per second right now!

I remember hearing about this quite a few years ago.  Some day any kind of appliance (computer/tv/phone/fridge/toaster etc...) will plug into an electrical outlet (and nothing else) and instantly be able to communicate with any other item that is plugged in inside you house.  they can also have super fast internet access to other locaitons (potentially no need for a phone cable, or tv cable anymore)

new satellite dish

the dish guy was over yesterday, came at noon, left at 7.  i'm really diggin the dish so far.  i didn't have a lot of time to check it out, but the music is awesome (you get Sirius satellite radio in addition to their own channels).  Also, after 11 pm i was able to watch the end of the US Open Cup (Gol TV) and a World Poker Tour event (Travel Channel) that I would not have had access to with cable!  I may never do anything else again, there will always be something good on tv now......

monday morning

i wish every minute of every day could be just like a monday morning.

i hate sundays

i sit around all day and do nothing.  just sit and dread the end of the day, because i know i have to get up an go back to work in the morning.  and all of this is usually after a fun filled saturday nite out at the pub or something like that.  well okay, so that doesn't happen very often, but any nite is good when i know i don't have to get up the next morning for a damm thing if i don't want to.  god i love that!

tomorrow nite should be good, the Chiefs are gonna beat up on the broncos!  That will make me happy.  wednesday will be good, the dish network installer will be here sometime after noon, and probably before 5pm!  i wish they could me more general about when they'll come, something like "yeah, sometime before the next full moon" would really be nice.  and then poker on wednesday nite will be fun.

i guess i should stop thinking about how much i hate sundays and just go to bed. 

i'm gonna start adding my own little bloggy current tags like you see on the cheesy xanga and other cheesy blog things.  i'm sure this will last about 2 days longer than it should:

pokerstars has been treating me like a bitch lately.  in tournament i can get close to the money, but not quite.  I just went out one spot out of the money again.  at least these are only cheap games i'm playing.

I watched my one american football game for the year last nite (GO CHIEFS!!!). okay i mite watch more, but i don't get into american football too much.

i think thats really neat how players hold up 4 fingers before the start of the 4th quarter. like they want to show they are paying attention to the game! i think it was randy moss that i saw doing this on that particular nite. i do kinda the same thing, except i do it before the 1st quarter, and mine is directed only at the raiders!!!!! at the team across the field from the Chiefs, AND the raiders!!!

i was writing about how exciting this was.  i'm on my way to bed soon so that i can get up in a few hours, go to work, and do some really annoying shit all while i dread my physical.  i played in two 5table poker tournaments tonite.  so 45 players, top 7 get paid.  i finished 8th, and 11th.  dammit, both times i could have gone on cruise control into the money, but i'm stupid.

life insurance

I just completed the phone questionairre for my life insurance, and then the guy tell me that it requires a physical exam.

"FUCK" was my only thought.

I did this a year ago for a smaller life insurance policy that i opened.  I didn't have anyone fingering my butthole or anything like that, but they take blood. with a needle.....  I think everytime i'm in contact with one, it gets worse.  I hate needles and will be nervous about this until thursday.  there isn't much else that makes me nervous, in fact i can't think of anything right now.......

i found a poker site that will set up private poker games, so the online league idea can happen. So i buy into a sit-n-go tournament on pacific poker (the banner that might be half hidden at the top of the page) for $2.50 tonite thinking this will be quick.  it was a 4 table game, so the prize pool was nice for such a low buy in.  i started out good, got better, made the final table, had the chip lead, lost a lot of it, made a lot back, made it to the final 4 (payout was 1st: $50, 2nd: $30: 3rd: $20, 4th: nothing) went way down and almost out, scraped my way back up to the point that all 4 of us were about even, took one guy out which just about doubled me up, too another guy out, scrapped with the last guy for quite a while before i took him out to bring a nice $50 payday my way baby!

its not the biggest prize i've collected for one game, but its the most X my buy-in that i've ever taken home i'm pretty sure!  but then again pacific is supposed to be the site to play on if you want easy competition.

okay, back to neteller and pokerstars.  the online league that i want to start up with all my kp reading frinds still has no home.  pokerstars is rated very highly from reviews i read.  i like the software.  they offer private table games to vip's, which require money account to earn so many frequent player points.  anyway, my bank rejected the deposit i tried to make to them, so my next option is neteller or firepay.  they are kinda like paypal i guess, but just curious if anyone has any exp with them?  or if anyone wants to send me some cash on pokerstars?  my username is "striker_dj".  send me some cash if you could!  if i ever am able to make enought FPP, i'll get the online poker league goin at pokerstars!

last nite i dreamed, today i hurt

In my dream last nite I lived in some sort of group home for retarted people.  I knew that I was mentally retarted but I felt totally normal.  Anyway, one day p-man and jon were coming to visit.  p-man was then going to some science museum, so it was just me and jon hangout out.  it was jon's birthday coming up, and for a birthday gift i gave him a bunch of football cards, including a ricky williams 2nd year card.  I had a hard time deciding weather to give him my ricky williams rookie card, i kept that on for myself.  so after i gave him the cards, we went on a quest to find out how much ricky williams' cards were worth, but for some odd reason we could not find anything about the value of those cards.  so we started to plan to inflate the prices of all of his cards.  that was it, we were planning something that would increase the price of all ricky williams' cards.  then i woke up.

my head hurts so bad rite now i feel like i could use someone like Casey T. or Mike T. to come and take care of me for the day......

so i go to read the article.  here's the deal.  EVEN THOUGH Kayne West is performing, they will not censor the show.  There will be a 7 second delay or whatever to filter any obscenities, but aparently that doesn't qualify as censoring?

ohhhhh, it goes on to say that Kayne West said on some other show that GwB doesn't care about black people.  so they aren't going to censor political statements like that.  ohhhh, that is rather bold of them, actually allowing freedom of speech.

its too bad that someone allowing freedom of speech becomes news [and a most viewed news story at yahoo].  shouldn't it be the opposite of that shit?

so my quest to find an online poker site that allows creation of private tables for $5 games has been quite un-successfull.  does anyone know of such a site?  empire poker seems to allow $25 NL private tables and the lowest amount.  i don't have a real money account anywhere else....

i've been thinking about starting up an online-only poker league, i haven't planned too much of the details yet, but the idea is we would play probably $5 games, maybe 2 or 3 games per week on tuesday nites or something.  this would probably be for no more than 10 people (1 table), but i haven't researched what type of private games i can set up.
