toys in the attic

assume this hypothetical situation is your own:

you buy a house, live there for over a year, then you go into your attic for the first time.  in the attic is a brief case full of cash, and i mean lots of cash, probably enough to pay off the rest of your house payment!

what would you do with that cash?

i've got a weird feeling

that all doctors drink coffee.  i went to the hospital this morning, every doctor i saw was drinking coffee.  i come home tonite, jill is watching greay's anatomy, doctors drinking coffee, then i watch ER, and its more damm doctors drinking coffee.  i do now beleive that you have to drink coffee if you are a doctor, but NOT that if you drink coffee you are a doctor.

can anyone confirm or disprove my theory here?

strange funeral wishes

is it weird to ever think about what you want your own funeral to be like?  if you answer yes then you'll probabably think this is really weird.

i sometimes hear a song and thing that it would be a good song to be played at my funeral.  so i'm riding bike earlier tonite with my headphones on.  A song came on and i thought this would be perfect for my funeral music.  A disco ball drops from the ceiling and we get Bjorn Turoque on air guitar with Leann Rimes in a devil costume lip synching Midnight Oil's Beds Are Burning from the Best of MTV Unplugged.  All of this is happening while my corpse is actually burning on a bed, at midnight on a saturday night.

weird thing is i really would like this to be how my funeral goes down....

one other random thought before i go to bed: how many times will it still be funny when conan o'brian comes out says what a great show they are going to have, says something stupid, and then says goodnite or something to signify that the show is over right then and there?  i bet that shit will still make people laugh 10 years from now when he's still doing it.

home depot is into marijuana!!

so a digg article says the home page of home depot has a marijuana leaf blowing across an image. then some people say that this is inaccurate. i don't know, check it out for yourself. they sure look alike to me. here is a picture of a marijuana leaf, and then a screen capture of the home depot page. you be the judge: (click on the images to enlarge them)

snakebutt

because i was involved in a game recently, i thought i'd put up a link to the official snakebutt rules.  its a wiki so you have the opportunity to edit the rules if i've missed anything.  i put this up a while ago and have not done anything with it since then.

pictue a day: bismarck bajae vs brandon

bismarck vs brandon

this picture was taken the summer of 1995, and was one of my favorite soccer games, both becuase of the result and because it was one of my best games. we were in Brandon for a tournament. our first game was vs this brandon team. it was one of the roughest and worst officiated games i'd ever played in. they beat us 2-0, and i'm not blaming any of that on bad officiating, we deserved to lose that game. as usual we cruised past the rest of our games, won our semi-final match pretty handily and met this brandon team in the final! revenge!

I don't remeber exactly how the goals came, but i think we were up for most, if not all of the game. i suppose it was sometime in the 2nd half, browning gets a red card and give up a PK all in one shot. we were probably tied or up by 1 at the time. mund comes in to replace him in goal and saves the PK.

close to the end of the game i made a run up the middle of the field with the ball until i was fouled about 25 yards out. all in one motion i stopped the ball with my hand and as i was getting back up spotted a wide open oarman on the right wing, hit it to him and he probably needed only 1 touch to beat the keeper for the game winning goal. it was one of my proudest goals and i wasn't even the one to score it.

the ref had done a pretty good job, but for some reason added an insane amount of stoppage time, waiting for his home town boys to tie up the game on the bismarck team with 10 on the field. it must have been close to 10 minutes extra, but finally he gave up and stopped the game, we were champions of brandon! I finished that game with 2 goals and 2 assists, we won 5-4!

if only every picture of the day had such an interesting story. well okay, its fun for me to tell but mite be quite boring for you guys. sorry, but damm i miss playing...

i survived

and i fully recommend Dr. Preisler at Face & Jaw Surgery.

First he told me that he doesn't like his patients to waste their money and that I would be wasting my money if I took the full anestesia and was put to sleep. I was hesitant but he offered laughing gas and promised me it would be quick, 2 seconds he said. I eventually accepted his offer of laughing gas and staying awake.

After I was numb, he came in and did something and then was done. I asked him if he really took the tooth out. I thought he was kidding about it taking 2 seconds. It was by far the easiest thing i've ever had to be numbed for. 100 X better than getting a simple cavity filled. of course it sucks right now, having blood for first meal, but what can you do about that?

if i don't make it back.....

yes, wisdom tooth to come out, complete with IV and puttin my ass to sleep.

if i don't wake up, i'll miss you, the faithful KP readers.  i'll miss you very much.

i shouldn't say shit like that i guess.

i mite not sleep tonite.  needles and that sort of stuff just make me nervous.  i guess its the price i have to pay, for being such a freakishly talented (blogger) writer, rite?!?!?!  i used to say that my bad fish allergy was to make up for the phenomenal skills on the soccer pitch, but now those skills have slowly faded away (or is it just my physical form), but that fucking fish allergy sticks around.  that is not what i think of as something that qualifies as fair.

well wish me luck.  i suppose most of you will be reading this after i'm done, and hopefully on my way home for first meal (ice chips), or back at home and in bed, dreaming about football and elizabeth shue.

as maynard would say:

peace the fuck out

i'm sick and tired of time discrimination

This weekend I had heard enough, and I'm sick of time discrimination when it comes to naming your meals.  you know what they are, the B word, the L word and the S (some say D) word.  well we've had enough of that shit.  they are all meals from now on.  1st meal, 2nd meal, 3rd meal, etc....

let everyone you know about this, its time we stop the discrimination.

i am without job!

i just got home and i have no job. my desk has been cleaned out and i said goodbye. it is a very different feeling than i had almost a year and a half ago when i left my last job. that day was a celebration. it was also worrysome of the unknown future for me. i was very sad to leave that place, i had worked for the same company for almost 8 years. i did not want that day to end, i didn't want to make that final walk out of that office, even though i was not alone, i think we all went out and celebrated, and then probably had a poker party at my place that nite. i knew i would still hang out with those that stayed in the office behind me.

today was a lot different. i was anxious to get out of the office, even though i will miss it. the most contact i'll have with these former co-workers will probably be in WoW. Maybe there are a couple that I'l see once in a while. i will miss the people i was working with this morning. i will even miss the work i was doing. but today the future is not quite as much of an unknown as it was when i came to this job 17 months ago. then i didn't know if i was going to be able to do a good job. now i am confident that i will have no problem doing a good job.

anyway, for those of you that know, i'll be joining up with the westrac crew again after this next week. even tho one of you just left the westrac crew, it'll still be cool to be back there. hey, lets meet at wendy's in 10 minutes!

want to buy a piece of SHIT?

people are even crazier than i originally thought:

nfl season

today was the first full day of the regular season and i just have 2 questions:

1. why did i hear someone say that one play may have saved seattle's season.  1 game and their season could have been ruined?  that sounds crazy.

2. when teams sit around in the locker room eating soup, is that before or after the game?

stump the schwab

i'm watching stump the schwab and they had a soccer category!

1 point:
in the 2006 world cup, eventual champions won all of their games except one.  who was the only team they did not beat.

2 points:
in the 2002 world cup, the US advanced to the 2nd round, and won one game there to get into the quarterfinals.  who did they beat?

3 points:
in 1974 and 1978 the netherlands lost in the world cup final to the host country each time.  name the countries they lost to each of those years.

all pretty easy!

earlier in the game there was a tie breaker between 2 guys.  the question: in some year 199X the san diego padres set a record by using the most pitchers throughout the year, how many pitchers did they use.  one guy guess 24, the other guy guess 482.  482 pitchers in one year, even 482 players in one year is kinda crazy.  wow!

and i was shocked, the contestant got all the soccer questions right.  he said his answer for #2 was a total guess, but he seemed to know the answer to #3 pretty quick, and it was an american dude.

do you know the answers, without cheating?  i did!

day of the dentist

today is the day and i've only got 2 official guesses on the number of teeth that i'll have fucked up and needing work.  i do have to say they seem kinda low, but the last time it was such a high number it had been at least 6 years since i'd seen a dentist.

the only guesses are 4 and 5 so far.  go back a couples posts and leave you guess in a comment.  comments will be closed later this afternoon!

the dentist looks pissed off

i guess it was probably 2 years ago that i posted and asked for predictions on how many cavities i would have on an upcoming visit to the dentist.  if i remember correctly my sister won that content with a pretty high number.

well its that time again.  next week on tuesday i go in to the dentist for the first time this year.  leave a comment with your official guess on how many it will be this time!  winner again gets a kidpurple.com t-shirt!!!
