lacrosse is a thing that makes me go hmmmmmm

today at buffalo wild wings some lacrosse came upon the tv. then there were 2 differnt lacrosse games on differnt tv's at the same time, it was great. one men's game and one women's game. i for some reason started thinking about how, if i was single, i would make it my goal to do a lacrosse chic.

SO: since i'm not single and not really eligible to fulfill my dream, i ask any kidpurple readers out there, do a lacrosse chic and leave a comment here about it! that would make my day and give me insipration to keep writing!

last nite we had some people over for some drinking, some poker, some of anything. towards the end of the nite onree kinda created the dan or jill game. he was going thru cd's trying to guess if a cd was mine or jill's. casey got involved and it became a great game. i decided that i'd put the entrie collection onto a website so you could play dan or jill online! well its almost there. it will take some time before i get my entire cd collection put into the system, but for now, check it out and let me know if you find any bugs!

As i'm sitting here ripping mp3s from my cd collection i'm also downloading full albums at the same time. so i started browsing around amazon looking for ideas of stuff to download. i started out at rammstein and started clicking the links to other albums under the section "Customers who bought this title also bought:". this morn i was thinking about going down to dakota magic for the day. but i didn't. i've been ripping mp3s and playing poker online. i deposited $50 early this afternoon and i've just about doubled it! i konw that nothing extrordinary, but its not bad! i won't go much longer cause FC Dalls vs DC United is calling my name, go FC Dallas!

i love peanut brittle

i had nothing else to say so i figured i'd confess my love of peanut brittle to everyone! i hope that i am not alone and that other peanut brittle lovers will be able to tell their friends and families. I know it is hard, but i did it in hopes of helping people everywhere.

i guess i better get back to more world of warcraft. my mage is only level 16.

liverpool

i rarely ever find any reason to cheer for liverpool, but today during the uefa champions league final, i found myself cheering for liverpool. and it was even against as milan, my favorite italian team. i guess i'm just that much more of a fan of the EPL than series A. when you combine me cheering for liverpool along with butt cricket from a little bit ago, i should probably go see a head doctor.

2 things just dont strike me right

this article about the vote for stem cell research just doesn't fit in my brain quite right. I will highlight some parts that make this just not fit in my brain, and this is exactly copied from the article:

the very first paragraph:

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Despite a veto threat from
President Bush, the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday easily approved bipartisan legislation that would permit more federal funding of stem cell research on human embryos that would otherwise be discarded."

the second paragraph:

... "would allow federal funding of stem cell research involving excess embryos from in vitro fertilization that would otherwise be discarded. It would not allow cloning a human baby."

the fifth paragraph:

"Opponents of embryonic stem cell research believe it destroys human life and object to using taxpayer dollars to finance it. They also charge that the promise of the research has been hyped."

the promise of research has been hyped???? that deserves to be bolded too, but its not today.....

the very next paragraph:

""The deliberate destruction of unique living self-integrated human persons is not some incidental tangent of embryonic stem cell research. It is the essence of the experiment -- kill some in the hopes of saving others," said House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, a Texas Republican."

did i miss something or did they say this was all about embryos that would otherwise be discarded?

there is much more good stuff in this one, but i'm tired. read the whole thing here to see that i'm not making this shit up! i really like the one about the white house claiming that this legislation: "relies on unsupported scientific assertions to promote morally troubling and socially controversial research."

that is just awesome, sounds a little bit like white house tactics themselves to me, just replace the word research with war! does war destroy human life? isn't the idea behind that kill some to save some others? who knows?

after spending a nite at mike and kelly wolf's house outside of mooreton i think it would be really awesome to live on a farm. thats pretty much what they got, but its a long haul to get to fargo. so i want to buy a farmhouse that is something closer to 5 miles outside of fargo. will you sell me your farm?

am i stupid?

this just makes no sense to me. i don't understand how the united states can invade iraq, start blowing up shit, killing people, going after uncle sadam, kill his sons and most of his army, take him as prisoner. but when they take a picture of him in his underwear they are going to get sued. BOTH OF HIS SONS WERE KILLED, but the person who took some pictures of him will send the shit towards the fan.

i doubt (and i'm not trying to say) that his sons (or sadam) deserved to live, but then again there are evil people all over the world that certainly deserve much worse punishment than any of those iraq-ites have or are receiving. but what do they get? just ignored?

i was once in the indian army

a long time ago i was in the indian army (indian as if New Delhi was your capital city) but i was as american white as i am today. i was stationed at a prison camp that was for american children, and i mean kids around the age of 10 or so. we would make the kids stand fully clothed under cold showers for hours. then i remember walking along the edge of a really dirty river. it was really soft ground we were walking on that was more like a bunch of debris built up along the bank. i was being told to watch out for snakes, and did see many large snakes in the water. eventually we had to swim and i felt snakes biting at my hands as i tried to backstroke thru this dirty river. i don't know where we were going or why we were in the river in the first place, but thats how this dream ended, snakes biting at my hands while backstroking thru some river in india.

dakota poker leage career is over

i lost out of the semi-final last nite to end my dakota poker league career. so you don't have to worry about seeing me on espn when the main event of the wsop is going on..... i had shitty cards all nite and when i did have decent cards, i either didn't play them right or usually someone just had better.....

ripping mp3s

i started the tedious task of starting to rip mp3s from all of my cd collection. as i'm going thru these cd's i notice how terrible some of this crap is of course i can blame it all of jill if i want to, but would i do that..... okay, maybe i would? there is a fucking brooks and dunn cd in here, should i even rip the mp3s from that? and i already have the mp3s from probably the only cd aqua ever made. i'm going to burn dvd's full of mp3s and i'll have a list online sometime of everything i've got here, so you can see some of the runny horse shit that is in my cd collection!

i've got more character than i know what to do with

16 minutes?

how many kidpurple readers have a drive to work in the morn that is longer than 16 minutes? that is exactly what it took me this morn. the old office was closer to 5 minutes away, so 16 minutes starts to be annoying to me, especially when i'm in my 7:30 every morning now. maybe i'll be able to find a quicker route, or maybe today's just happened to go really fast?

World of Warcraft, well worth it!

you mite know that i bought world of warcraft, and i HIGHLY reccommend it, as much as you would recommend that i take a spelling and grammar class! I have created an undead mage who has just today reached level 10! he is skilled at tailoring, and has made most of his own clothes! join me on the Skywall server if you are brave enough to get the game. I don't think I'll ever play anything else, this game is so great, the best game ever! so get on the skywall server and find me, my name is Kooc.

what its all about?

as you surely know by now i started a new job this week, monday morn exactly, so this if my 4th day here! I can't say how much i'm going to like the new job yet, everyone here seems pretty nice and helpful, but i'm stuck in a crappy office (for now) and learning a new programming method.

first of all i'm moving from a total microsoft environment to a java/mysql environment. i have a good understanding of java to start with so it helps, but its still a lot to learn. also the way certain things are done here are much different than i'm used to, but i'll catch on quick i think.

then, the new company i work for had already outgrown their office space, so i'm suck in the break room. at least there is a little divider so that i'm seperated from people when they come in to get water, or user the microwave or whatever, but it smells like coffee and you know how much i like coffee. the lack of a window is enuf to drive a person (well at least me) mad. its kinda depressing actually. the good news is that i (and several others) will be moving soon! they are expanding to another office in the building. i will only be in a cubicle, but at least there will be a window in the room that i'm in, something smaller than my old office, but at least a window.

so its been a hard first (almost full) week. i said the lack of a good window is almost depressing. even tho i have gmail notifier, windows messenger, and yahoo messenger, i still find myself checking my email once in a while to make sure i don't have anything. So if any of you who used to work with me (even 200 miles away), i miss you guys.

i guess i ought to get back to work eh? i was writing while waiting for a program to download, its done now.... i'll talk to you all later!
