I was watching ESPN last nite and saw something amazing. Aparently the University of Iowa's visiting locker room in the football stadium is painted pink. Ok, thats kinda funny! The coach who did this in the first place was a psychology professor there (in the 70's or 80's i don't remember). The idea is that it will throw their opponents off their game a little bit, and the stats show that they have a higher winning percentage during the time this locker room was pink! well done Iowa.
Then they talked to some people who were mad about the pink locker room. It wasn't any of the visiting teams who had to use the pink room. All the Ohio State football players they interviewed kinda laughed about it and said yeah, thats a good idea. The people who were actually upset about this were some guy (wearing a pink shirt AND tie) that was the leader of some gay rights group or something, and also a women affiliated with the National Organization of/for? Women. They claimed the pink was supposed to represent a girlie color and that to play like a girl was a bad thing. I hate to be the one to break this to everyone (and some will hate me for this), but playing college football like a girl would be a pretty bad thing. Its a fact, men and women are physically different (last time i checked). If they weren't, we'd all be hanging out with the guy in the pink shirt, and no one wants that.
I'm all for equal rights between sexes, religions, races, sexual preferences and ages. But that fact that a mens football team is going to beat a women's football team does not mean that men and women don't have equal rights, they are just physically different. Its not a good reason to get upset about the color of a locker room. Aren't there more important things to worry about?
