damm grass, damm ipod
the last 2 times i cut the grass i got a lot of crap that it just wouldn't suck up, so it left rows of dead grass, which looked like crap when the stuff started turning brown. so this time it started to it again, i thought maybe because i was mulching it, so i put the bag on. same thing, just kept getting worse. so finally i flipped the thing over and scraped out the bottom with a screwdriver, after that it wokred pretty good. i had to go over the front yard again to pick up all the crap that was left.
then i come in to find that my ipod will not turn on for me. dammit, i had to look up how to reset the thing, but then it worked! i hope things go better for me tomorrow and i get back on the winning track for http://jackofpoker.com tomorrow nite!

linux is okay
there are a couple reasons why i don't have all linux computers at my house, iTunes has become a big reason. still some of the distros don't have the greatest driver support, but i guess those are old computers - windows would probably choke on the old nic's. anyway, check it out:
what would replace iTunes on linux for me, anybody know??

google talk
http://www.google.com/talk/
ohhhh, its google instant messaging, and its soooo nice! just like gmail! you need a gmail account to use this, if you don't have one, email me and i'll invite you! then install talk and look me up, you should know my email address!
I'll be waiting to see who messenges me first!
KP
oooooo, and another great feature that i just discovered today [aparently its a week or 2 old] is that gmail now allows you to send from multiple addresses! so you can use gmail to combine all of your email addys into one location! very nice!

why i will never become an astronaut
i don't know how to spell the damm word to start with. and besied that, i don't spend my time training for space travel and studying about space flight, i spend that time doing stupid shit like playing poker and video games, wishing i didn't have to work, and posting stupid comments on other people's flickr photos like these:
http://flickr.com/photos/holydumb26/37263144/
http://flickr.com/photos/lauralaine/34209474/
http://flickr.com/photos/dkrobinson/5425666/
that last one was titled "Some Dude w/ Steve" before I left that comment! Its really a fun thing to do. just go to http://flickr.com and start looking at pictures. make sure you sign up and upload a pic so those suckers can see who's commenting on their dumb ass pictures! then come back and post a link to some of you comments here.
and remember, i promise, whatever i do, i will never become an astronaut. and i hope you don't either!

satellite tv
i've been gone a while you may have noticed, but i'm back today finally, and i need some advice. I'm thinking about ditching cable tv and getting satellite tv. direct tv or dish network? what to do?? do you have any exp with either of these, and has it been good or bad? it doesn't seem like a hard choice when looking at the channel listings below, and the bigger list has way bigger selection of music channels too!

disturbed
i am convinced that the band disturbed uses my phones ring tone in one of their song. i kept hearing it and running upstairs to see if my phone was ringing. it took me a while to figure out that it was part of the song (kinda in the background). So now i've had to change my ring tone because of this.
damm you disturbed.... actually i had already changed my ring tone a couple days before i discovered this!

i am an ultimate fighter
well at least in my dream last nite i was, kinda...
i traveled to some ultimate fighting tournament with blake-bie and my dad. it was like something strait out of mortal kombat. we showed up and were checking in and taking care of all the usual stuff at a mortal kombat tournament and what not. so there was me, my dad [naked larry] and blake-bie amongst a crowd of muscle-y asian guys in thier kung fu outfits practicing their kicks and punches and whatever. i realized that i was going to be killed if i actually did fight in this tournament and wanted to just not show up to my first fight so bad. after a couple days of just hanging out, the tournament started and i did make it to my first fight. luckily it was against a small guy. i was very nervous, but right at the start of the fight i kicked him in the stomach, he went down and didn't get back up. i won that one was wasn't happy cause i knew that only meant i had to fight someone much tougher than he was next. i was running around trying to find naked and blake-bie to see if they wanted to just leave before the next fights when i woke up.

the best mp3 i've heard in a long time
if you know me, there's a good chance you know something about english soccer. if you don't know a thing about english soccer, stop reading right now.
good, i'm glad your still with me! While I was playing with iTunes I was also searching for good torrent listing sites yesterday. I was browsing thru mininova.org last nite when I came across a manchester song, so of course i download it. its the best mp3 i've downloaded in a long time!
since i use blogger now, i can't just upload any file that i want, so i had to come up with some other way to get the goods to you. so i signed up for a jot.com account. I've now got a kidpurple wiki, yippie. well for now it just serves the purpose of getting you this file. so go check it out at the link below. I hope eveyone is able to get the file okay, cause its really good!

the coolest thing i've ever seen!
tonite i've been playing around with iTunes some, i've discovered some cool things:
How easy it is to stream music from one computer to another using iTunes, so now I don't have to keep mp3s on more than one computer!
How easy it could be to wirelessly stream music from one computer to a home stereo using an airport espress! (hopefully i'll be able to do that someday soon!)
How much better aac seems to be than mp3. I've started to convert my mp3 library to aac. an aac at 128 kbps [supposedly] has the same quality as a 160 kbps mp3. so most of my 160 kbps mp3s will become aac's and take up much less room!
the iTunes music store is pretty neat too. they have celebrity playlists. i was browsing thru a few of them when i came across the bacon brothers. as in kevin bacon and his brother Michal. now the coolest thing ever: on Kevin's list: drumroll please........ mmmbop [hansen]. oh yeah, thats so awesome, kevin bacon listening to hansen!! i love it!

there is a cockroach hiding in your pudding!
everytime i eat pudding or yogurt i think of ving rhames pulling the big cockroach out of his yogurt [in the movie striptease]. i know he put it in there himself, but i just have to take a couple of precautionary spoon jabs into my cup of tastey pudding before i dig in.
does anybody else do that? will anyone else do it now after reading this?

i want alternatives to the outcome of the 2000 US presidential election to be taught in schools....
i was just browsing thru the news on my homepage and i came across this one:
http://tinyurl.com/8gx28
I used to argue with my sister about this whole evolution deal. This article makes it sound like gwb said something worthy of an intelligent person when he says that education should expose people to different schools of thought. at first read of that, it sounds good. with a little bit more reading, it makes me wonder what ever happened to seperation of church and state?
just to straighten this out first: i would have a real hard time beleiving that someone could argue against evolution that was not fueled by their own religious beleifs. so don't tell me that evolution is bs based on scientific facts. i know your own religious beleifs are behind that.
now that thats straightened out lets go back to gwb. he at least knows that he can't just say that evolution should not be taught in schools, that would be kinda like saying that math should not be taught, well maybe not that extreme, but similar. math and science (biology at least) span all cultures and religions is the point here. so this push to teach "different schools of thought" is motivated by a single [shared by millions] religious view. and our seperation of church and state???
okay, seriously i don't really care too much what bush or any of our "leaders" think should be taught and what they base those decisions on, YET. but now if some other country came and took over our land of freedom and made us live under their own rule, I would be very happy to have strong seperation of church and state, because they would turn your kids into muslims! then we would all appreciate the seperation of church and state i'd be willing to bet.
i even often don't see what the big argument is about. creationism and evolution do not seem to be mutually exclusive ideas to me. why can't people accept that maybe both are true?. an example: the computer network was developed [created] long before you ever had a computer. networks today [the internet] don't resembe the very first computer networks, cause they evolved.... get the point. well i don't know why i bothered so much with this, but now i have more work to do, so i'd better get back to it. Java is calling!
sorry to have wasted your time.....

what do you want to patent?
I was reading about microsoft and all their patent applications, aparently it seems they want to patent everything. What do you think it takes to identify when baseball is exciting? so they are trying to patent a way to identify when baseball is exciting. don't beleive me? you shouldn't. but in this case i'm not making this up. check out the link below:
