After Zidane's viscious headbutt vs Italy, I wanted to see a replay. So I went to the internet. It was hard to find one right after the game, so when I did, I uploaded it to YouTube. My inbox got flodded with notifications of comments posted to that video and it made it to the #6 most viewed (as of right now) video today, with over 100K views. This make me think about what it would be like if I had that much traffic on a website of my own that got that kind of traffic. So i bought zidane-headbutt.net and just put that video up there, along with some google AdSense. Traffic started rolling in pretty quick. It wasn't anything compared to what viewed YouTube, but still a good amount.

So it just kinda gets me excited about trying to get traffic to some websites for the purpose of showing some AdSense ads. I have so many ideas for sites and so little time. Work and World of Warcraft get in my way so much. Guess its time to quit my job....

whats wrong with soccer?

i'm kinda starting to get tired of hearing people complain about soccer because the world cup is going on.  i know the game is beyond the comprehension of most americans, but why do they even bother.  okay, i'm pretty used to this type of stuff, being a big soccer fan for the past 20 years or so.  some do have a valid complaint about the diving that had been taking place in the world cup this past month.  some that are just ignorant think its a wimpy sport or they don't score enough, so i thought i'd point out some things about the sports that you love:

1. American Football - An average game supposedly has just under 15 minutes of time the ball is actually in play.  then divide that between offensive players and defensive players, and the usual number of plays a starter is on the bench, and special teams.  how much time does that leave for one guy to actually be involved in the game?  then give them timeouts, tv timeouts, 2 minute warnings, and breaks between each quarter.  could they do it for 90 minutes?  oh, and it wouldn't seem like such a high scoring game if each touchdown was worth only 1 point would it?

2. Basketball - wouldn't it be more exciting if anything that happened before the last couple minutes meant anything?  sure you get the occasional blowout, but then how really exciting is that? (unless its your favorite team beating your most hated team).  then the end of the game takes 10 minutes to actually finish the last 40 seconds of game clock time......

3. Baseball - they can't use steroids???  if you can play with a giant mouth full of chewing tobacco, how strenuious is it really?  a lot of people think watching grass grow is about as exciting as a baseball game.  one pitch - half a second - strike.... 45 seconds later, another pitch, ball, 45 seconds later......

4. Hockey - damm exciting sport that a lot of americans don't understand as well.  really, i can't off the top of my head think of what is wrong with hockey.  oh yeah - how about the recent missing season.  players can't deal with a salary cap.  news flash, hockey is not in the same league as baseball, basketball, or american football in popularity, your not gonna make as much, as long as you play in the U S of A.

5. Golf - might be fun to play for old fat guys that can't play their favorite sport anymore (hey, i'm one of them), but watching grass grow IS more exciting than watching golf.  when people argue about weather a disabled guy should be allowed to use a golf cart to compete or not, they should all just go home.  or if the men make a big deal and whine about the woman that wants to play in the mens division, thats a sign you should give up and quit, maybe not just golf, but life as well.

6. Nascar - turn left, turn left, turn left, turn left, repeat 500 times, oh boy.  get a 3 and an 8 sticker for the back of your truck, put them on each side of the little dude that is pissing on the logo of the ford or chevy symbol, whichever it is that you don't drive.  now your cooking with gasoline, and you'll probably blow yourself up with it too.

Do we live in the dumbest country in the world?

Finally, I have proof that we must be living in the dumbest country in the world.  This is it, the debate about what term to use to describe children that are overweight.  You can't call them obese because it will hurt their feeling.  The 17 year old girl quoted in the story meant to say when your young, you are stupid, and I am still very very stupid.

I wonder why it really matters, if a kid is overweight you shouldn't hurt their feelings by telling them that, but if they are underweight because their role models are really skinny, is anyone afraid of hurting their feeling by saying you are underweight?  If it were up to me, I'd say: You weight X pounds, for your age and your height, your ideal healthy weight should be Y pounds.  Unless your are even dumber than you look, you know what the difference is, call it whatever you want, obese, overweight, or skinny-ish challenged person or whatever you want, does it really make a difference?

As I was reading the article I couldn't help but to think about why kids should not be educated about the dangers of smoking tobacco.  Some of those kids could already be smokers, or have family members that smoke.  Talk of cancer and pictures of black lungs would probably scare those kids, or make them sad and therefore we should not do it.  Nothing is worse than hurting someone's feelings, even if it means that they might die because of it.

It also makes me think of the wonderfull idea to not educate children about birth control and safe sex.

We don't deserve to be here anymore I don't think.  Oh well, North Korea will fix that soon enough.
