on my way home from work...
I saw this bumper sticker on my way home from work today and wondered why alternative fuels have not become more widely used? or maybe they are starting to in newer cars, i haven't been in the market for a new car, so i don't know. i wish i was a little bit closer to work and i'd start biking again. i did get out for about 8 miles tonite and it felt good. it has been "dan get off your ass" month!

playing football (soccer)
i finally got out on the soccer field today again. errrr well at least a large area of grass with a soccer ball, not quite a field but it was still fun. along with bierwoman and onree d'france we beat on 3 little kids that must have been, oh hmmmmm, 8 - 10 years old maybe? we totally schooled them, it was great! they didn't even see it coming. team space invaders they called themselves, bah i say, they couldn't have invaded a shallow lake from a leaky canoe....
gotta get out to thesoccer field large grassy area more often, it felt good to beat up on some small kids! yeah!!! kids if your reading this, don't try to match up against team TT again, it'll just end painfully for you.....

make me a logo!
in one more attempt to make something decent of a good idea i had a long time ago, i've decided to start some work on fargobar.com again. to make anything mildly successfull out of it, i need someone who has some decent graphical skills. i'm looking for at least someone who could create a logo for the site. this is a no-pay job, but if the site is ever really successfull i'll be sure to re-pay the artist back if i use your logo. and if you want to work up a full site design, that'd be even better, but i really need at least a logo for now!

watch a baseball game
as i was sitting in onree's basement, sipping on a bottle of coors lite that wasn't tasting up to par (as good as the high life!), i flicked the tv channel to a fuckin redhawks game. for those of you who don't know the redhawks are the local baseball team, so it seemed weird that their game was on tv, but i put on some rem in the stereo and blasted it so i wouldn't have to listen to the game also. then something happened that will forever change my life......
the tv camera went to the manager/coach of the redhawks in his glorious uniform that matches all the players' uniforms. i wondered why the coach with his very nicely sized beer belly (MUCH larger than my own) wears a uniform as if he's gonna be called in for a pinch run or something? i then realized this always takes place in baseball, and i'd bet it even takes place in softball too??
so why does that fucker always have the same shit on that the players wear? is he gonna have to play in case he runs out of pitchers?
give me a peanutbutter/cheese sandwich and i'm off to bed finally!

for now, only one kpreader knows what [that title] means. but i use it as a title here becasue i wanted to write about one of the dumbest things i've seen recently, and the story about [that title] is pretty dumb itself. expect to hear more about that later!!

our new house!
we found a new house pretty quick, made an offer on friday, accepted a counter offer, have an inspection tomorrow and (if the inspection is good) will close on it on july 29!!! no house for us (yet)
we had that house inspected yesterday and it didn't turn out well. joists were cut, roof was in bad shape, heating/cooling system was goofy and many other things. so the hunt is on again for a new house!
i'll still name a soccer field after someone when we do get a house. it will probably have to be much smaller, but it will still work.

as you know (if you pay any attention to this webiste) i've recently bought a house. still a ways until we move in (inspection is tomorrow, closing date is july 29). and you also may know that i plan on putting a soccer field in the back yard (yes, it will be a small field for 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 games)! my [eventually] children will learn to play soccer on this field. they will also go on to lead the US to world cup triumph, and become household names worldwide. just imagine if you could say they learned to play on a field that was named after you!
here's how: all you have to do i purchase the goals! check my amazon wish list to see if the pugg goals have been purchased yet. if they have not, buy them, have them shipped to me, and i'll name the field after you [or any approved name you want to call it]!
act fast, someone is sure to buy the naming rights soon!

i just got an email from julie s. (cableone customer service) and she told me that cable service is available at our new place. i was pretty woried cause about a quarter of a mile to the north of us is nothing but fields. i am a bit surprised (and very releived) that i will get to keep my cable modem. the tv service would not bother me at all to change up tho......
now i just have to hope the house isn't flooding right now. its been raining here for the past couple of days and many houses are flooding i guess. keep your fingers crossed for me!

this could spell disaster
and i'm not even sure i spelled it right.
i just realized how satellite internet access is dished out, from some of the major providers (dish, direct tv) at least. the partner with dsl providers. now our new house is quite a ways north or town and i'd be a little surprised if any cable company gets out that far. so i was under the impression that we'd get a satellite, and along with it, satellite internet access. no so. it would require dsl. 1. we have cell phones, i wouldn't want to get a phone line just for dsl. 2. like i said before, its quite a ways out there and prob couldn't even get dsl? 3. i don't want any fucking dsl, i want my cable modem.
maybe i should have re-thought that whole house buying deal?????? shit. what am i to do. i guess i'll find out tomorrow if the cable company goes out that far, i sent an email tonite......

kidpurple got a house!
this weekend we made an offer on a nice house in north moorhead, we receive a counter-offer and are going to accept it! i've got an inspection scheduled for this week, and if that all goes well, we'll be moving into minnesota on the weekend of july 29th!!!!

To Everyone other than Gurdip: this character named Gurdip emailed me and asked me about how i create all of this. So i'll write a little bit and provide some links for anyone who is interested in create a site just like this totally free! EVERYTHING YOU SEE HERE IS FREE!!
So here it is, a list of the differnt parts of the website:
1. The most important piece: blogger.com. Blogger is the tool used to build the website and they give you the hosting space too, so without blogger, you are out of luck. (of course there are MANY free blogging tools, but blogger is my favorite!) sign up for a free account at http://blogger.com, or just click the "get your own blog" in the upper right corner of this page!
2. flickr! if you don't know about flickr.com its about time you learn! Flickr lets you upload pictures, and then use them on your blogs or anywhere you'd like! once you've uploaded an image i hit the "all sizes" button and go to the small one. then you just have to copy some code and paste it into you blogger post! pretty easy!
3. I have a couple boxes full of links on the right hand side of the site. the first is my blogroll. this is a handy little tool to have. i have a bookmark set in my browser that will allow me to hit it on a website i want to add to my list of links, and it takes care of everything. just hit up http://www.bloglines.com/ and sign up for a free account. then you should be able to get some code from their site to include on your own website to display the links!
4. the next box of links is from http://del.icio.us/. its a cool site where you can share and tag your bookmarks.
now to display my del.icio.us links i needed to sign up for an account with RSS Digest. this is a free service that allows you to display your xml feed from del.icio.us. sign up for an account and provide them with your del.icio.us information. it looks like they have too much traffic right now, so you may not be able to use this....
5. STATS: stats are kinda a cheesy thing to have on a website, but what the hell huh? you'll notice that the 3 counters i have on the right side of the page are not even really close to each other, so don't use any of this if you need accurate stats. the stats that i like the best is the icon at the very bottom of the page. click here to access that one. and if you click on any of the stats images, you'll go to a page that will allow you to sign up and get your own stats from them.
6. FEEDS: this is a really cool feature, and still totally free. i used FEEDBURNER for this. new poker table
last nite with the help of steve, we made a new poker table. not too shabby, but its not done. eventually we'll add a padded railing along the perimeter. so i ask, should that railing be white, gray, purple, or some other color?okay, maybe its not fair to say "with the help of steve", it was more like steve made the table, and i kinda watched him do it! thanks Steve!

google maps!
google maps doesn't sound real exciting, maps, so what. but you can do some pretty cool things with it! well i guess officially they don't allow these things but they aren't stopping them either. so i had an idea to plot a map that showed the homes of everyone i know in fargo, along with the houses that we've been looking at! right now there isn't much on my first map, but soon i hope to download this software and run it on my own server! then i'll be able to do much more (i hope!)

we tried to buy a damm house tonite but got rejected. someone offered more money at the same time, so i've decided to set up a donation box, so that we can maybe afford to out-bid some asshole on the next house we find that we want to buy! donate whatever you like, its thru pay pal and more secure than writing a check at a restaurant!

kidpurple is lookin for a house
if you've got any hot house tips for me, email them please! we're looking for a house in fargo. we saw one today that we probably would have made an offer on, but we found out they had accepted an offer just a few hours before we saw it :( there is another similar one that we hope to go see tomorrow in north fargo. who knows, maybe by wednesday we'll own a house (or at least have agreed to own a house in the future.....)! wish us better luck than we had today!

i just realized how shitty the search function is in the little bar on the top of the page. look in the upper left hand corner of the page, you got the blogger logo and then a serach box. i searched for some terms that i copied strait from my earlier posts, and it came back with no results. that is very dissiapointing..... i'm sure a lot of people want to search this website for something, maybe for their own name, but now they can and it will return no results weather i've written about you in the past or not, hahahahahahah!!!!

where the fuck can a guy find a good icee in town (fargo)??? and i mean a real icee, none of that fake shit some places try to sell. i used to get them at the ndsu pizza place in the union, but since i've graduated i have not been there, and they are hard to find around town. this led me to the wonderfull internet (part of which you are reading rite now, what a coincidence!). well it turns out that icee's website has an icee locator, and the stop'n'go just a few blocks from here sells icees!!! lucky day! bring on the icee's mutha fackos!

george bush is really short
there was some type of terrorist attack at a church that i was attending. i saved a bunch of people somehow and george bush came to visit me becasue of it. he was only like 3 feet tall when he showed up. i wondered how he was made to look normal on tv. of course this is a dream that i had recently....
